The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and its allied extremist militias linked to the former regime launched an airstrike earlier today on an oil-pumping station in the area of al-Ailafon, East of Khartoum, which transports oil to South Sudan. Tragically, this unwarranted attack led to the deaths of two courageous Rapid Support Forces (RSF) soldiers and the injury of 14 members of the RSF Critical Facilities Protection Force.
The systematic destruction of public facilities and vital infrastructure by the SAF and its terror-driven patrons from the former regime is clear evidence of their desire to sabotage the well-being and livelihood of the Sudanese people.
While condemning the vindictive criminal acts committed by the SAF and its extremist supporters as they blatantly defy international law, ethical norms, and the Geneva Conventions, we call upon the regional and global community to condemn these systematic crimes against innocent civilians.
The RSF underscores once again its firm commitment to freeing the people of Sudan from the oppression of these terrorists and establishing a new, just, and democratic state, devoid of discrimination, and marked by inclusivity.
